In addition to three existing sites in Bradford County, the Tioga/Bradford Housing Authority and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank have added an additional distribution site in Blossburg for its Fresh Express Program.

School-aged tenants throughout public housing in Tioga and Bradford County celebrated the back to school season with new school supplies, new clothes, and for some, new backpacks courtesy of the Tioga/Bradford Housing Authority.

Tenants at both Page and Keystone Manors enjoyed a presentation from the Tanglewood Nature Center last Thursday. Local Susquehanna Valley Audubon Society member, Ingeborg Wells, also a resident at Page Manor, coordinated the event, and more than thirty residents and family members from both buildings attended.

The Rental Rehab Program provides landlords in Bradford & Tioga County an opportunity to improve the condition their rental properties by investing up to $18,000 in rehabilitation work which would bring their units up to Housing Quality Standards. North Central Sight Services Inc. will be offering free vision and glaucoma screenings for the residents of Page and Keystone Manors in Athens and Sayre, Pa on June 30th. Staff will be available to conduct screenings at Page Manor from 10:00am-12:00pm and at Keystone Manor from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Monday June, 30, 2014.

Starting June 1st, the Farmer's Market Nutrition Program, provided by the B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc., will provide eligible seniors with fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmer's markets. Seniors who qualify can receive up to twenty dollars in vouchers to be used at various farmer's markets and farm stands throughout Bradford and Tioga Counties.

Representatives from the American Red Cross will be attending Fire Safety Meetings at Riverside Manor in Westfield and Forestview Manor in Elkland on Friday May 30th.

The local paramedics from Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital are offering a free program to all residents of Tioga County senior housing. In appreciation of residents in Tioga County, paramedics are bringing residents the FREE File of Life, Yellow DOT System and DOT Registry programs.
