Authority Encourages Summer Reading
For the second consecutive year the Housing Authority is sponsoring a Summer Reading Program for children residing in public housing.
“We want our children to be active during the summer but we also want them to remember how much fun it is to enjoy a good book,” said Service Coordinator, Nicole Siedhof.
Children who participate in the program are encouraged to read on a daily basis but are required to complete five books as well as complete a checklist that offers fun alternatives to enhance a child’s reading experience (see below).
Children who meet the program requirements will receive a prize before returning to school at the end of August.
