Fresh Express Rolls into Wellsboro!!
The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank’s Fresh Express Program is now making stops at the Housing Authority’s Pinnacle Towers and Park Hill Manor locations in Wellsboro, PA. Tuesday, July 5th marked the first food delivery, which will occur monthly moving forward.
The Fresh Express Program is designed to address food insecurity for eligible recipients throughout central and northeastern Pennsylvania. This supplemental food program delivers nonperishable foods, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables, directly to Housing Authority buildings each month. By eliminating the transportation barrier, residents have better access to nutritious foods on a regular basis.
The partnership between the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and the Housing Authority began back in 2013 when our first two Fresh Express sites were established at Keystone Manor in Sayre, PA and Page Manor in Athens, PA. With the addition of Wellsboro, the Housing Authority now has 10 Fresh Express sites covering all of the Authority’s elderly, handicapped, disabled locations in Tioga and Bradford Counties!
Thank you Central PA Food Bank for all you do for the Housing Authority and the communities you serve!
